Our Belle Ame Lancaster hairdressers live and breathe the city and spend a lot of time finding out where the best places to eat are.

We wanted to share some of our favourite restaurants and bars with you.

Best Restaurants Lancaster

Our clients know that when we go out, we like to support our fellow local, independent businesses. If you’re a client, you’ve probably heard us tell you about how delicious Quite Simply French is. Lauren, the owner of the salon, likes to take us here, so that we can spend time together, whilst enjoying 5-star food and a wonderful ambience.

Further Information: Proud to be Lancaster’s No.1 restaurant (with nearly 2000 reviews on TripAdvisor), Quite Simply French is a foodie destination offering fine French cuisine. The menu changes every day and with the seasons, and every plate is cooked to order.

Places For Lunch In Lancaster

I would definitely say that all of us at Belle Ame are foodies. So, on Saturdays, we like to give ourselves that end of week treat by going to the Cornish Bakery (if you don’t know this place, make sure you get to know it!!).
Elicia likes to get a sausage roll and says ‘the cakes are to die for‘. Mel likes a traditional Meat & Potato, which makes a change from the noodles. We all love the Cornish Bakery as it’s such good quality.

Stephanie from The Cornish Bakery explains: “We are a family run business based in our city centre town house on Penny Street. We pride ourselves on our great reputation that sees us celebrating our 20th year in business next year! Our passion in the hospitality industry continues to grow each year as we evolve with our ever growing customer base, from our lovely regulars, local students and visitors of this beautiful historic city. Our mission is to provide a personable experience through customer service and quality food.”

Sunday Roast Lancaster (and amazing cocktails!)

The Cornerhouse has a great atmosphere and is our go-to for a few cocktails on a Saturday night. It has amazing food and serves up the best Sunday roast. We love the fact that it’s both a restaurant and bar and it has a real upbeat vibe!!

Further Information: The Cornerhouse Lancaster is a buzzy venue serving classic comfort food, late-night bites, cocktails & live music. It prides itself on having an eclectic mix of cosy booths, seating areas for groups, and champagne tables for people-spotting.

Lancaster Date Night Ideas

The Borough is a cosy pub and restaurant with a great choice of gin! The food menu offers some classic, traditional favourites like Lancashire hot pot, as well as lighter options like their beautiful, tangy salads. It’s a wonderful, relaxed place to hang out with friends – or for the odd date night.

Further Information: The Borough labels itself a bustling pub, restaurant and hotel located in the centre of historic Lancaster, spread over three floors of a Georgian town house. It’s the perfect establishment to enjoy great food and drink in beautiful city centre surroundings.

Lancaster Bars

Finally, as you’d expect, after a busy week in our Belle Ame hair salon, we like to unwind before the weekend. Like most of you, we enjoy a few drinks with our work pals after work on a Friday. You’ll often find us in the Royal Hotel and Bar, Molly with a Prosecco, Laura with a glass of rosé…and a bag of dry roasted in the middle.

Olivia from The Royal Hotel and Bar explains: “With its stunning beer garden and wide selection of beers, wines and spirits, The Royal Hotel and Bar is the perfect place for afternoon sipping in the sun or chilled evening drinks in their cosy bar. The city centre hotel boasts 14 bedrooms and is ideal for those wanting an overnight stay or weekend break in Lancaster. Set with launching their new summer cocktail menu soon, it’s definitely one to visit!”
